My goodness how time has flown. I took this image into the sun overlooking the tea plantation and as you would expect there were quite a lot of lens flare issues (due to my fault for not cleaning the UV filter before taking). That is certainly a lessons learnt experience :) The image pretty much speaks for itself, it was very serene, calm and the tea was rather fresh and tasty.

This image is comprised of a 6 portrait shot stitch, and it took 6hours to get there.

This is just one of the shots I managed to shoot near the base of the Harbour Bridge. When I was taking this shot (30 seconds is a long time to wait) there were sooo many wedding photographers snapping away and I can understand why. I mean seriously with a back drop of the Opera House I think it is a definite must for newly weds who live in Sydney to have this in their wedding album!!!

Anyway this is my take of the Sydney Opera House which I am sure there would be photographers out there who would have taken it with the exact same composition :) I guess it is like Perth’s most photographed boat house the “Blue Shed” hahahaha well not as iconic though

We started at King’s Street. Maybe the street just wasn’t photogenic enough, or maybe the cold night hadn’t warmed up our fingers to do the clicky clicky :) Who knows what it was for not being able to capture King’s Street, but as all adventures go, we needed to press on!!!

We ventured to Council House based on Graham’s (have to give credit where it is rightfully due) suggestion that the building was lit. Must say we were quite taken back at the beauty of the neon lights that were dancing around the building, and with some careful composition here are my shots. No doubt Graham will try to up-stage me of course.

This shot is of the main entrance to Council House. To me it looks like a entrance to a UFO :)

In this shot I wanted to capture the various colours of neon light, I had to increase the ISO in order to keep the shutter speeds fast. If shutter speed was left too long you will simply get a blue representation (a mixture of all the neon colours mashed into one). I could have increase the aperture to drop the shutter speed but I wanted to maximise DOF.

This shot I am showing was persuaded by Graham after I had already packed up my gear and decided not to do any more shoots.

Here is my take on a similar shot taken by Graham. I decided to go for a higher angle shot rather a low down shot of the man made stream.

It is amazing what you can recover from a raw image file. The sky in the original image was all blown but I managed to recover the detail in the sky using the gradient filter in ACR.

My wife and I had the lucky chance to be invited by the brother-in-law for a holiday in the Gold Coast and it was too good a chance to pass up, so off we went and this was what we were greeted at the beach. nice ehhhh :)
