This is another image I found from my archive, it was taken in Applecross many sunsets ago :) I like the simplicity of the image, perhaps it is the rule of thirds being applied in this image that drew me back to this image.

It is amazing what you can recover from a raw image file. The sky in the original image was all blown but I managed to recover the detail in the sky using the gradient filter in ACR.

November 7 was the day to celebrate women in the sky in particular Nancy Bird-Walton – Australia’s greatest aviatrix (quoted from recreationalflying.org). Here are some photos I managed to squeeze off. Would have been good to own some nice telephoto lens though like a 70-200 for example.

Looks like Canon was very well represented in this event, there were plenty of photographers carrying those “white” envy lens around with them, isn’t that just a kick in the face for people who can’t afford them :)
