Wedding HK Style

Took this picture today of a Bride and Groom (who I have not a single clue who they are) crossing a very busy road. This shot was taken in close proximity to the Price Edward MTR station. There is a shopping mall in this district or should I say a wedding mall that sells everything related to weddings, something like an IT mall but caters to weddings. I guess the probability of snapping a happy couple would be quite high in this district :P

Indian Fire

This shot was taken just before having dinner at Brickfields in KL. While driving to our destination, we chanced upon an Indian festival (could be a shin dig for all I know :) ) and I managed to build up the courage to take some photos. I have always shy’d away from taking photos of people, but this time I was determined to take some. This is a shot of an Indian man from what I can gather was washing away evil spirits by scooping the warm air caused by the fire and running it along his arms. Hopefully I described it properly :( well it certainly is not to keep warm in the KL???

This shot was taken with my ISO bumped to maximum 1600 at f2.8 even though 1600 on a 350D is absolutely useless I had to take the chance.

Food from Ipoh

Ipoh the capital city of Perak State, just one of the 13 states in Malaysia and what is Ipoh famous for??? Food!!!! Here are 2 pictures taken on our return to KL from Cameron Highlands. The first, Satay, is a personal favourite! At just RM0.60 a stick, they are covered in peanut sauce, and followed by pieces of cucumber. Popiah, the other treat, could be described similar to a vietnamese spring roll. The contents are turnip, shrimp, crispy shallots, and cucumber, rolled in a rice flour pancake and topped with chilli sauce. This is served cold, however the turnip and crispy shallots are cooked.

Calories = Who cares!!! Its new years!

Cameron Highland Hibiscus

The size of the hibiscus flowers grown in Cameron Highlands in Malaysia are big…!!! Unfortunately this shot doesn’t show the proportions but I really like the composition of it and the strong stamen it so proudly exhibits.

Cherry Tomatoes

These cherry tomatoes were harvested from our garden bed this morning, not a bad harvest especially since we didn’t plant it in the first place. The plant was starting to take over the whole garden bed and external intervention had to be taken in order to control it before it took over everything, killing everything in its path.

These Boots are Made for Working

This image is something I have wanted to do after noticing the sun beading down on the deck at my place. I really wanted the reflection of the boots on the oiled boards… but I guess it is not glossy enough for that.

Cup Of Tea Anyone?

So I have been a bit slack recently with no posts of anything. This is a shot taken many moons ago back in August. Managed to finally do something about it. If you didn’t catch the title, it is a cup of tea made on a cold winter August morning, Earl Grey tea I think??? I saw the steam rising from the cup and decided to give it a go, so here is the result.

Rusty Taps – My Take

We (Graham and myself) set each other a task to see what sort of interpretation we can give to an image taken by Matt and is posted on his blog. This is my take of Matt’s image, I wanted to show the colours of the rusted out iron pipes while at the same time showing some texture in the wood and the freshly painted wall (as Matt describes’). I am still not sure if the background hammer headed thingy mounted on the wood is actually a hammer or not but I did not want to draw the viewer to that implement (whatever it may be) and therefore highlighted the knobs / to be more specific the nuts of the pipe.

The Abandoned

This place has been something I have been wanting to take photos of for a while. I wanted to take shots of the rusted corrugated roof, but unfortunately the sun was a bit harsh today. Apparently today had the highest temperature (36 degrees) in November for a number of years.

Min Min Aw

This post is for the Uni friends who are very eager to see Dennis’s little one. Being typical Dennis, he has not posted any pics of his little girl since she was born which is over a year ago i believe, or even longer :) So for the curious Uni friends I present Min Min Aw.
